The Federal Government has dispatched 20 trucks of rice to every state and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, as part of efforts to alleviate the economic burden on Nigerians.
Minister of Information and National
Orientation, Mohammed Idris, announced this after the Federal Executive Council meeting led by President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa on Monday.
Each truck carries 1,200 bags of 25kg rice, designated for distribution to the most vulnerable individuals and families.
Idris emphasized that this initiative marks the first phase of federal support for all states. He also highlighted that state governments are responsible for ensuring the rice reaches those in need to help ease the current hardships in the country.
