The Sobi FM Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kwara State Council, in collaboration with the Nigerian Media Parliament, is set to host its fourth Strategic Media Seminar tomorrow, Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
Dr. Kolo Baba Jiya, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Kwara and a businessman, will deliver the keynote address, themed “Kwara 2027: The Role of Media in Advancing Power Balancing to Foster Equity and Unity.”
According to the Organising Secretary and immediate past Chairman of Sobi FM Chapel, Dare Akogun, the seminar will bring together journalists from various media organisations and correspondents from major national newspapers across the country.
Akogun stated that the seminar would critically examine the media’s role in shaping and supporting equitable distribution of power as a process of ensuring fairness and justice in governance of Kwara State.
The seminar promises to provide an interactive platform for stakeholders to engage with the vital role of media in setting the agenda and providing a platform for robust discussions about equitable distribution of power among ethnic groups in the state.
This event is expected to foster a deeper understanding of the media’s role in promoting equity and unity in Kwara State, ahead of the 2027 elections.
