28th anniversary: Emir of Ilorin, a peace lover, bridge builder- Kwara NUJ
The Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has felicitated the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on the occasion of his 28 Years Anniversary on the throne, calling him a peace lover and bridge builder.
The union observed with delight that Ilorin, admirably referred to as a modicum of peace and scholarship, has experienced developmental strides and recorded monumental achievements within the period under review.
This was contained in a felicitation message jointly signed by the State NUJ Chairman, Abdullateef ‘Lanre Ahmed; and the Secretary, Omotayo Ayanda.
The statement noted that the peace building effort, charismatic leadership and absolute conviction of the Emir of Ilorin in the efficacy of prayer have proven to be the oil that lubricates the wheel of progress of the ancient Ilorin town.
The union said Ilorin has been blessed to be in the forefront of decision making nationally and internationally, pointing out that this could be attributed to the prayer and support of the paramount traditional ruler to his subjects, who are making waves in their areas of calling.
“It is our utmost belief that Ilorin has been fortunate to have the Emir of Ilorin, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, who believes in peaceful co-existence among his subjects and residents of Ilorin, thus networking and building bridges that connect humanity.
“The degree of attainment of Ilorin town among her contemporaries in the last 28 Years, with Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari on the throne, has not been lost on us. The positioning of Ilorin as a leading light cannot but be attributed to the visionary and charismatic leadership of our revered monarch, who is passionate about the developmental strides of his domain to the admiration of all.
“It is to our delight that the Emir of Ilorin preaches peace and tranquility at all times, which the global community is currently in dire need of.
“While rejoicing with the Emir of Ilorin on the level of transformation of the town admirably referred to as a modicum of peace and scholarship, it is our prayer that the Almighty Allah elongate your earthly existence with quality health to further serve Him and humanity”, Kwara NUJ added.
